Class driven use of the Computer.
What technology lends itself to use in working with Adults to improve literacy? For this demonstration I chose to use a Website (http://pre-gedcmc.wetpaint.com/), Twitter and Powerpoint (See: Most common words file below for example of a student driven Powerpoint.)
• You can use Power Point to develop lessons for your student or you can use it to have your student create presentations based on the lessons taught.
• Student and Tutor can work together to create a Power Point or skills can be taught in advance and then a project developed based on the platform you are using. For example a general lesson on how to use basic Powerpoint and then let the student create a powerpoint based on their homework or another assigned project. • Here I have created a presentation based on some of the most common words from list 1 in Reading Horizons.
• Then go to Wetpaint to the Pre-GED website and post something about it (create a link)
• From there to Twitter. Under share this email to everyone in the class, twitter, etc.
• Photos- Now and then
• There is no limit and the students themselves will come up with amazing creative ways of using technology.
